I made a similar version for my theme club & thought everyone would like a FREE ve rsion!It is only a zen version…I didn’t think Hidden Today would look to well & for now it’s only available for 9700, 96XX & 8900 on OS 5. If you find that your not on an icon on the home screen just scroll up & it’ll be focused on one.

NOTE:
This theme has a SVG that makes the icons, flower and butterfly appear & disappear by pressing a button. Z makes the icons appear and the 0 (zero) button hides them. W makes the flower & butterfly appear and E hides them. In order for this to work properly you’ll need to press the green phone button, as if you’re calling someone, menu, options, general options, look for “Dial From Home Screen” & select no. Save and that’s it!

You can DL the FREE version of BatteryEx here. After it’s DL’ed and you mess around with it, you can start creating your own skins.

I think the hardest thing about creating the skins is just re-sizing. The rest is pretty simple.

The way I do mine is–

I find or make whatever image I want to turn into a skin and I re-size it to 64×64 pixels. When I’m happy with the look and size, I “save as” (.png format) and browse to my “BattEx Template” folder (I’ll upload my folder, so you can DL and use). I save and replace “Preview”. Then I save as again, browse to my folder and replace “charging_000″. I keep on doing this until all the 64×64 images are replaced, just an FYI all 64×64 images, end with 0 except for Preview.

Hopefully, I haven’t lost ya. Next, I change the image size to 22×22 pixels. (these are gonna be the small ones in the notification area). I  “Save As” (.png format) browse to my folder and replace the ones ending with a “i” For example, “charging_000i” And I keep saving and replacing until all of them are done.

When everything is re-named & sized, I rename the folder to whatever the theme of the battery is.

To load the skin on your Blackberry, you’ll have to use your computer, Desktop Manager and of course your USB cord. After your BlackBerry is connected & Desktop Manager is open, go to media then launch media manager. I click the split view and the memory card on your BB shows at the bottom. Find BlackBerry/m4dev/skins/BatteryEx then just drag the folder of the skin you made or DL’ed, let it transfer then unplug your BB. Go to the BatteryEx app and scroll to skins and select the one you loaded or made!
